Frequently Asked Questions
I serve God through my organization.
Let’s be honest in this matter, most service is not done to glorify Christ in sincere worship and honor, it's done in name of the fraternity/sorority. When you're out in your sorority or fraternity paraphernalia serving, what name is being promoted? In Genesis 11:4 they were building the Tower of Babel and said, “...Let us make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” God was so very displeased with the people, because at the core of their hearts was pride. Many people are fooled into thinking these organizations are godly because they do community service, but this is not proof that they are godly. Furthermore, you cannot serve God/Yahweh in something He’s not part of. That’s like a bank robber, drug dealer or sex trafficker saying God blessed them with the money they stole, exploited and/or perverted people to obtain. People seem to conveniently forget The Bible says satan is the “god of this age”…2 Corinthians 4:4, “whose has blinded the minds of those who do not believe. They are unable to see The Light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” Now we know Satan is NOT more powerful than God, Elohim is sovereign; He has given the devil a level of authority for a time. 1 Peter 5:8 warns us, “Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” We are told this because we have to be AWARE of what’s behind the scenes. And guess who makes us aware? JESUS! The Holy Spirit leads us into ALL truth (as said in John 16:13), IF we actually seek The Lord, ask Him AND listen for HIS answer.
Satan majorly influences opinions, views, ideals, the world’s philosophies, education, and even religion…including Christianity. He seeks to try destroy The Truth because is a liar and deceiver. Think not? Then why does the church look no different from the world? Homosexuality, adultery, depression, suicide, abortion, idolatry, and the list goes on and on, are all very prevelant among professed Christian. The same applies to the infiltration of secret societies in the church. You can to try label anything with His name, but it does NOT make Him The Author of it, nor Him partaking in it. The devil is deceiving MANY into thinking that if someone talks about Jesus, uses the term “Christian”, uses a scripture, that it must be God. The reality is, what “god" are you truly serving or referring to?? 1 John 4:1, Jesus warns us to test spirits. When you truly test these organizations against HIS Word, it becomes evident it's not of The One True and Living God.
It’s not that deep, and my allegiance is still to God. He knows my heart.
Jesus says in Matthew 12:36-37, “You can be sure that on the Judgment Day you will have to give account of every useless word you have ever spoken. Your words will be used to judge you—to declare you either innocent or guilty.” So even if you don’t think that what you say and do is a big deal, Jesus does!
How would you feel if your wife or husband told you that even though they said vows to you on your wedding day, they really didn’t mean it? Or what if your spouse had an affair and when you found out, shrugged it off and said “they didn’t mean it.” Would you just accept either of those scenarios? Wouldn't you be hurt to hear that? Well The Lord has given us His Word to obey for our protection, and we cannot disregard obedience to Jesus, by just saying “I said or did it, but I didn’t mean it”. James 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways” It is contradictory to say you follow Jesus Christ, but do something the opposite of His Word. Jesus said in John 14:15, "if you love Me you will keep My commandments." 1 Thessalonians 5:22, says “flee every appearance of evil.” Another version says, “Stay away from every kind of evil.” And let's not forget, Jeremiah 17:9 tells us "the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" This is why our hearts must change and be truly submitted to The Lord.
One example of being double minded is how men and women will gladly tout the words of the Invictus poem which says “I am the master of my fate I am the captain of my soul." Additionally it says, “I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul.” Do you honestly think it doesn’t matter to The Lord that you "thank gods,” also claim you are the master of your fate as if you are God, and that you said many other things when in these organizations? We can tell you emphatically, it DOES matter; it angers and hurts The Lord. Instead of it being about how you...have you stopped to really ponder about how Jesus feels?? We implore you to do so.
There are godly and anointed people in these organizations
(e.g. pastors, gospel singers, my family and friends, etc.), so it can’t be an issue
I’ve never bowed down or worshipped another god in my organization.
Worship is not limited to physically bowing, it's also through submission and sacrifice. Throughout your initiation, in some way or another, you had to submit and make certain sacrifices for your organization, whether that be through finances, time, relationships, sleep, health, etc. Some people literally risk their lives to become members of these organizations by way of hazing practices. Romans 12:1 says, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” We present our bodies a living sacrifice by making ourselves submitted to whatever God is tasking us with (e.g. sacrificing time by staying up late/waking up early to pray or study the Bible, “beating” our bodies into submission through fasting and, sacrificing finances by faith, etc). On the flip side, there is perverted sacrifice some make to be in these organization pledging (being “on line") to prove themselves. They are made to sacrifice time to be hazed in various ways be it mental or physical, they sacrifice finances to pay dues or buy things for big brothers/sisters or line brothers/sisters), one must learn songs, chants, prayers and hymns for the organization, ETC. None of these things don’t happen for the sake of Christ, they are done for the flesh, pride, the fraternity/sorority (this IS worship!).
Now in reality, you did bow down to another god when you knelt down in a ceremony of some type, as well as bowing spiritually by way of the oaths taken to be in the organization. You would not be a member if you did not agree to the oaths and bonds of the organization. Oaths were spoken over you (which you never read because you weren’t allowed to have the ritual book until after joining, if at all), that you willingly of your own free will agreed to (in some cases you had to literally say "I Do." This means WHATEVER the organization represents, adheres to, etc., you are now bound to that as well. And Exodus 23:32 tells us. “Do not make a covenant with them or their gods.” Think about this way…when you get married to a man or woman; by joining together in marriage, you take on whatever they have and whoever they are. When you say those vows, you become one with them, with the good and bad. You don't stand and call out every detail of their life during the ceremony…you are, by your own free will, accepting whatever they come with. If they're lazy, you're choosing to take that on. If they are mean, you’re connecting your life to that. It’s no different with these organizations…you are essentially “marrying” yourself to the entity and whatever spirits they come with.
And your ignorance of not knowing every little detail does not mean you’re not accountable for your actions. That is why the Lord says in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” And God goes on to say in that scripture…” because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge.” We as people, reject knowledge. We don’t seek it. We don’t ask questions. We don’t study (not just read it) The Bible enough to be able to even stop and think…how does line up with The Jesus I claim to follow?
The only one we're supposed to look to as our standard is Jesus Christ. These people you are referring to are just that...people.
2 Corinthians 10:12 says, “Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.”
As long as we are flesh, we are capable of missing the mark and making mistakes. Sadly, there are many who have titles, a large following, even people we know personally, who will not enter God's Kingdom. It is completely unwise to model or judge oneself after another man or woman. In addition, looking to other people as the standard, is of itself idolatry. Like we've stated in response to other statements, just because something or someone appears "good' does not make it or them truly of God/Yahweh. It also doesn't matter if someone is gifted, talented, famous, a great orator, a preacher/pastor, etc, ONLY Christ is The Standard. In fact, in Mark 7:6-9, Jesus firmly rebukes following the traditions of men and rejecting the commandments of God.
To be clear...there is only ONE GOD. He is Alpha and Omega. The Holy One of Israel. The Creator of the Heavens and Earth. King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Lion and The Lamb. Yet, these organizations mention, promote, and connect to polytheism and syncretism which are antichrist. These are ancient spirits (demons), disguised and worshipped for centuries. It's cunning deception to get people to think all this is harmless, and has no affect on their relationship with God. The following false gods are attached to each organization (some are shown on their crest, others are mentioned in their rituals, while others are an indirect connection)
-
Alpha Phi Alpha: Sphinx - Egyptian mythical creature / Horus - Egyptian sun god
-
Alpha Kappa Alpha: Qetesh - Semitic goddess of Syrian or Sumeria goddess of beauty, love, and lust / Atlas (shown on crest) - Greek god / Themis - Titan goddess (mentioned in rituals)
-
Delta Sigma Theta: Minerva- Roman goddess of wisdom (shown on crest and in rituals)
-
Iota Phi Theta: Centaur - Egyptian mythical creature
-
Kappa Alpha Psi: Apollo - Greek god (in rituals) / Thoth - Egyptian god
-
Omega Psi Phi: Shekinah (also known as Asherah/Ashtoreth/Astarte) - female goddess spirit in Kabbalah & Merkavah myticism and Gnosticism (omega rituals refer to spirit of omega as female in nature) / Anubis - Egyptian god (depicted with a head of a jackal, which is a dog)
-
Phi Beta Sigma: Horus - Egyptian god, Pallas Athena - Greek goddess of wisdom
-
Sigma Gamma Rho: Aurora - Roman goddess / Maat - Egyptian goddess
-
Zeta Phi Beta: Archon - demon or underworld ruler in Gnosticism / Bastet - Egyptian cat-headed goddess,
I disagree with certain things or I don’t participate in certain things, but it’s not serious enough to renounce.
You cannot simply disassociate yourself from the ungodly parts of these organizations, just like you cannot pick and choose which parts of God's Word to obey. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 says, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” By saying you know certain things are wrong but it’s not serious enough to separate and renounce shows you are aware it's ungodly, as well as the fact you are intentionally choosing to disobey God. Hebrews 10:26 says, For we if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins."
Additionally, you joined in covenant with the organization, hence the rituals performed. A covenant by definition is an agreement, a contract, a bond, indenture, etc. One organization even asks you outright to "subjugate" yourself to it, which means to bring under domination or control. This is what happens in every single one, and that is not something you can simply dismiss by saying you won't go to meetings anymore, or wear paraphanalia anymore, etc. The enemy will eventually pull you back in since you are tied to it. If The Lord has shown you things are not right...LISTEN and OBEY. Remove yourself completely, both spiritually and naturally on paper.
What are these organizations spiritually connected to?
I renounced in my heart, and that's all I need to do.
First, let us say it is awesome you've realized being in a greek organization/secret society is not of The Lord. So then we must ask, if God has shown you the truth, why are you not following Him and completely removing yourself from the organization? Jesus said in John 10:27, His sheep knows His Voice, He knows them, AND they follow. Partial obedience is still disobedience. When you joined the organization you willingly said the rituals, participated in a public probate show, signed a certificate of membership, proudly kept your membership card in your wallet, sang the songs and/or chants, yelled the calls, posted photos, threw up signs, etc. All of which was done to publicly show you were of that organization. So why would you then be silent, and do less for God? By not willing to completely separate yourself, it indicates you are still tied to the organization, and are willing to leave the door open for you to return OR for the enemy to lure you back in. Just like with a power of attorney, you did hand over spiritual rights and willingly bound yourself to the organization. It's also like when someone says they're separated but not divorced...which means they're still married. Your attachment to the organization must be severed, both spiritually and naturally. First, you must sincerely repent for all the things done, then completely sever membership permanently (refer to the "Resources" tab for info on how to renounce and withdraw).
Remember obedience is better than sacrifice as stated in 1 Samuel 15:22.
Well I don’t agree with what you're saying...
God's truth stands regardless of one's agreement. Don’t take our word for it, search for yourself! We actually encourage you to do so! 2 Thessalonians 5:21 says, “but test all things.” Also Acts 17:11 says, “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
At the direction of The Lord, we are sharing truth of The Word and our testimonies, because we have been there. We know Holy Spirit has or will reveal truth to you, if your heart is not hardened. Go back and review the rituals and really compare them to The Word. Strongly ponder, would it really be worth risking your soul for the sake of maintaining membership in a lodge or fraternity or sorority? God is calling us to a place of complete surrender and sacrifice, which is directly tied to our eternity. Jesus sacrificed everything for us! Are we really willing to forsake everything for Him?
Aren't Greek-lettered Organizations/Secret Societies founded on Christian Principles?
Well first, what exactly are Christian principles? When people use this term related to these groups, it's referring to humanitarianism, charity, benevolence, etc. These organizations have never been, nor are, ministries for the purpose of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now are good works things a Christian should do, yes, however, good works and are not indicative of having a true relationship with Jesus Christ nor something being truly of God. There are people who genuinely do good things and are nice people, but they deny the very existence of God. There are false religions that have their basis in good works, however they are in no way connected to the true Messiah Jesus. We must be discerning on testing all things, even when the term "Christian" is used. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, “And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works." Deception will cause for things which are not rooted in God to go unnoticed simply because it looks and feels good.
The core of these organizations cannot be truly Christian since for one anyone can join, an atheist, agnostic, Wiccan, etc. Additionally, while some rituals will attempt to mix in Scripture, it's just that, a mixing of the holy and the profane. One part will have a Bible verse, then on another page a connection to a pagan deity, this is clearly antithetical to Scripture. IF it were “Christian” as often claimed, there would be no speaking the words “in the name of______”, “the spirit of _____,” “I pledge my loyalty to _____.," or taking an oath or vow of secrecy about the organziation. Why would a ritual book and/or ritualistic ceremony be needed? There would be no need to kneel, bow down, etc. There would be no need for a false god to be a basis or attached at all. These things must really be thought about as they are antichrist practices many attempt to justify, and claim okay doing as a Christian.
