Aren't Greek-lettered Organizations/Secret Societies founded on Christian Principles? When people use the term "Christian principles" it's mainly referring to humanitarianism, philanthropy/charity, benevolence, etc. Are good works something a Believer should be doing, absolutely; however, good works are not synonymous with something being Christian. There are people who genuinely do good things, but they deny the very existence of GOD. There are religions that have their basis in good works to obtain access to GOD and they are false. We must discern and test all things, even when the term "Christian" is used because deception will cause for things not of The Lord to go unnoticed simply because it looks and feels good. Rememember 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, “And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works." These organizations cannot be truly Christian as they encompass pluralism (interfaith); one can be an atheist, agnostic, wiccan, etc. As followers of Jesus Christ, we stand on Acts 4:11-12, Jesus is The Cornerstone and there is no other name under heaven by which mankind can be saved. In addition, these organizations embody syncretism which is the merging of different religions or schools of thought (mixing of the holy with the profane). For example, one part of the rituals used will have a Bible verse or may even mention GOD, while at the same time paying homage to a pagan deity; this is antithetical to Scripture. If it were Christian as some often try to claim, there would be no need to take an oath and vow of secrecy to the organization. There would be no need to kneel/bow down at a man-made altar; there wouldn't be pagan gods incorporated at all. There wouldn't be a ritual book and ritualistic ceremony; there wouldn't be hazing. These things must be scrutinized as they're antichrist practices many are attempting to justify and claim permissible as a Christian.

What gods are these organizations connected to?First, there is only one True and Living GOD (Deut. 4:35 & 39 and Deut. 6:4), and true Christians are not to worship another (Exodus 20:3-5 and 34:14). When delving into the Hebrew meaning of the word "before" as mentioned in Exodus 20:3, it actually means we're not to have any other gods above, beside, against, or even among The Most High GOD. The core of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is knowing there is only one true GOD and only one way of salvation (John 14:6). It is in direct opposition to GOD's Word, as well as dishonoring and disrespectful to GOD to tie oneself to a false deity, yet many do so by way of these organizations. The gods associated with greek-lettered organizations (this includes BGLOs and many others) stem from ancient polytheistic religious systems in areas such as Babylon, Egypt (Kemetism), Greece (Hellenism), and Rome. The names may differ by region but the same devil is behind all false deities and it is not mere symbolism. When joining these organizations (as well as any other secret society) one is coming into agreement, approval, and covenant with any and all false gods associated, which is forbidden in the true Christian Faith. If a professing Christian, one should examine and ponder a number of things: Why are there false gods incorporated? Based on God's Word, wouldn't this be offensive to Him? Why am I comfortable with giving respect, homage, and adoration to any false god by way of a ritual, wearing it on clothing, giving credence to it in a ceremony, etc? Romans 1:32 states, "Though they are fully aware of GOD's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them themselves but approve and applaud others who practice them." The following false gods are attached to black greek-lettered organizations (some are shown on the crest and/or mentioned in the rituals, while others are an indirect connection).

I've never worshipped or bowed down to another god.Worship is not limited to physically bowing, it's also through submission and sacrifice. Throughout the initiation, in some way or another, one has to submit and make certain sacrifices for the organization, whether that be through finances, time, relationships, sleep, health, etc. Some people literally risk their lives to become members of these organizations by way of hazing practices. Romans 12:1 says, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” We present our bodies a living sacrifice by making ourselves submitted to whatever God is tasking us with (e.g. sacrificing time by staying up late/waking up early to pray or study the Bible, “beating” our bodies into submission through fasting and, sacrificing finances by faith, etc). On the flip side, there is perverted sacrifice some make to be in these organization pledging (being “on line") to prove themselves. They are made to sacrifice time to be hazed in various ways be it mental or physical, they sacrifice finances to pay dues or buy things for big brothers/sisters or line brothers/sisters), one must learn songs, chants, prayers and hymns for the organization, ETC. None of these things don’t happen for the sake of Christ, they are done for the flesh, pride, the fraternity/sorority (this IS worship!). Now in reality, you did bow down to another god when you knelt down in a ceremony of some type, as well as bowing spiritually by way of the oaths taken to be in the organization. You would not be a member if you did not agree to the oaths and bonds of the organization. Oaths were spoken over you (which you never read because you weren’t allowed to have the ritual book until after joining, if at all), that you willingly of your own free will agreed to (in some cases you had to literally say "I Do." This means WHATEVER the organization represents, adheres to, etc., you are now bound to that as well. And Exodus 23:32 tells us. “Do not make a covenant with them or their gods.” Think about this way…when you get married to a man or woman; by joining together in marriage, you take on whatever they have and whoever they are. When you say those vows, you become one with them, with the good and bad. You don't stand and call out every detail of their life during the ceremony…you are, by your own free will, accepting whatever they come with. If they're lazy, you're choosing to take that on. If they are mean, you’re connecting your life to that. It’s no different with these organizations…you are essentially “marrying” yourself to the entity and whatever spirits they come with. And your ignorance of not knowing every little detail does not mean you’re not accountable for your actions. That is why the Lord says in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” And God goes on to say in that scripture…” because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge.” We as people, reject knowledge. We don’t seek it. We don’t ask questions. We don’t study (not just read it) The Bible enough to be able to even stop and think…how does line up with The Jesus I claim to follow?

There are godly and anointed people in these organizations (e.g. bishops, pastors, etc.).The only one we're supposed to look to as our standard is Jesus Christ. These people you are referring to are just that...people. 2 Corinthians 10:12 says, “Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.” As long as we are flesh, we are capable of missing the mark and making mistakes. Sadly, there are many who have titles, a large following, even people we know personally, who will not enter God's Kingdom (Matthew 7:13-14, Matthew 7:21:23, 1 Timothy 4:2). It is completely unwise to model or judge oneself after another man or woman. In addition, looking to other people as the standard, is in of itself idolatry. Like we've stated in response to other statements, just because something or someone appears "good' does not make it or them truly of God/Yahweh. It also doesn't matter if someone is gifted, talented, famous, a great orator, a preacher/pastor, etc, ONLY Christ is The Standard. In fact, in Mark 7:6-9, Jesus firmly rebukes following the traditions of men and rejecting the commandments of God.

I serve God through my organization.Let’s be honest, most service is not done to glorify Jesus Christ in sincere worship and honor, it's done in name of the fraternity/sorority. When you're in public wearing your paraphernalia while serving, what name is truly being promoted? In Genesis 11:4 they were building the Tower of Babel and said, “...Let us make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” God was very displeased with the people, because at the core of their hearts was pride. Many people are fooled into thinking these organizations are godly because they do community service, but this is not indicative of godliness. Furthermore, one cannot serve God/Yahweh in something that's in direct opposition to His Word. It's akin to a bank robber, drug dealer or sex trafficker saying God blessed them with the money they stole, exploited or perverted people to obtain. People seem to forget The Bible says satan is the “god of this age”…2 Corinthians 4:4, “whose has blinded the minds of those who do not believe. They are unable to see The Light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” Now we know Satan is NOT more powerful than God, Elohim is sovereign; He has given the devil a level of authority for a time. 1 Peter 5:8 warns us however, “Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” We are told this because we have to be AWARE of what’s behind the scenes. And guess who makes us aware? JESUS! The Holy Spirit leads us into ALL truth (as said in John 16:13), If we actually seek The Lord, ask Him AND listen for His answer. Satan majorly influences opinions, views, ideals, the world’s philosophies, education, and even religion…including Christianity. He seeks to try destroy The Truth because is a liar and deceiver. Think not? Then why does the church look no different from the world? Homosexuality, adultery, depression, suicide, abortion, idolatry, and the list goes on and on, are all very prevelant among professed Christians. The same applies to the infiltration of secret societies in the church. You can to try label anything with His name, but it does NOT make Him The Author of it, nor Him partaking in it. The devil is deceiving MANY into thinking that if someone talks about Jesus, uses the term “Christian”, uses a scripture, that it must be God. The reality is, what “god" are you truly serving or referring to?? 1 John 4:1, Jesus warns us to test spirits. When you truly test these organizations against HIS Word, it becomes evident it's not of The One True and Living God.

Renouncing is your personal conviction and does not apply to me.GOD's truth stands regardless of one's agreement. He does not have one standard for some and a different standard for others; He sets the standard for all creation. Sadly, since many people have accepted the lie of Satan (the same lie in Genesis 3:4-5 and the one he tried to tempt Jesus with in Matthew 4:8-9) they are unable to discern the truth; which is spiritual blindness as mentioned in 2 Corinthians.4:4. Entrance into The Kingdom of GOD is not based on whether we are “personally convicted” or not. If this were the case, those who are practicing sin and do not “feel” convicted would be fine to continue in sin. It would also make Scriptures such as 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:5, etc., false. On the matter of greek-lettered organizations (and any other secret society) GOD has truly addressed this in The Word and His commands apply to all. What it ultimately comes down to, is a personal decision to either obey GOD or not. Because of Jesus' love and mercy, He is long-suffering toward us, He corrects us in numerous ways, and He even goes above and beyond to get our attention because it’s not His will for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9). On this matter (and many other things) we are living testimonies of His wonderful grace and correction! One has the choice to either choose life (narrow path) or death (wide path) as mentioned in Deuteronomy 30:19 and Matthew 7:13-14); we pray you will choose life!

It’s not that deep, GOD knows my heart.Jesus says in Matthew 12:36-37, “You can be sure that on the Judgment Day you will have to give account of every useless word you have ever spoken. Your words will be used to judge you—to declare you either innocent or guilty.” So even if you don’t think that what you say and do is a big deal, Jesus does! How would you feel if your wife or husband told you that even though they said vows to you on your wedding day, they really didn’t mean it? Or what if your spouse had an affair and when you found out, shrugged it off and said “they didn’t mean it.” Would you just accept either of those scenarios? Wouldn't you be hurt to hear that? Well The Lord has given us His Word to obey for our protection, and we cannot disregard obedience to Jesus, by just saying “I said or did it, but I didn’t mean it”. James 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways” It is contradictory to say you follow Jesus Christ, but do something the opposite of His Word. Jesus said in John 14:15, "if you love Me you will keep My commandments." 1 Thessalonians 5:22, says “flee every appearance of evil.” Another version says, “Stay away from every kind of evil.” And let's not forget, Jeremiah 17:9 tells us "the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" This is why our hearts must change and be truly submitted to The Lord. One example of being double minded is how men and women will gladly tout the words of the Invictus poem which says “I am the master of my fate I am the captain of my soul." Additionally it says, “I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul.” Do you honestly think it doesn’t matter to The Lord that you "thank gods,” also claim you are the master of your fate as if you are God, and that you said many other things when in these organizations? We can tell you emphatically, it DOES matter; it angers and hurts The Lord. Instead of it being about how you...have you stopped to really ponder about how Jesus feels?? We implore you to do so.

There are things I don’t participate in but it’s not serious enough to renounce. You cannot simply disassociate yourself from the ungodly parts of these organizations, just like you cannot pick and choose which parts of God's Word to obey. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 says, “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” By saying you know certain things are wrong but it’s not serious enough to separate and renounce shows you are aware it's ungodly, as well as the fact you are intentionally choosing to disobey God. Hebrews 10:26 says, For we if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins." Additionally, you joined in covenant with the organization, hence the rituals performed. A covenant by definition is an agreement, a contract, a bond, indenture, etc. One organization even asks you outright to "subjugate" yourself to it, which means to bring under domination or control. This is what happens in every single one, and that is not something you can simply dismiss by saying you won't go to meetings anymore, or wear paraphanalia anymore, etc. The enemy will eventually pull you back in since you are tied to it. If The Lord has shown you things are not right...LISTEN and OBEY. Remove yourself completely, both spiritually and naturally on paper.

I renounced and I'm not active; however, I don't need to withdraw.First, it is awesome you've realized being in a greek organization/secret society is not of The Lord. We must ask then, if you have realized God's truth on this matter, why aren't you following Him completely and removing yourself from the organization? Jesus said in John 10:27, His sheep knows His Voice, He knows them, AND they follow. James 1:22 advises to be a doer of The Word not a hearer only, thus deceiving oneself. Renounce by definition means to formally give up something, to abandon it and turn away. By not willing to completely separate yourself indicates you are still tied to the organization and haven't renounced. You are essentially leaving the door open to return or for the enemy to lure you back in. When you joined the organization you willingly said the rituals, most likely participated in a probate show, signed a certificate of membership, proudly kept your membership card in your wallet, sang the songs and/or chants, made the calls, posted photos, threw up signs, etc. All of those things are done publicly to show you were part of that organization; so why then be silent, and do less for God when you're now aware renouncement is required? Similar to a power of attorney, you handed over spiritual rights and willingly bound yourself to the organization and the attachment must be willingly severed, both spiritually and naturally. Akin to a person saying they're separated but not divorced (meaning they are still legally attached to their spouse), a person who has not completely severed ties with a secret society is still bound. We implore you to sincerely repent, renounce, and withdraw from organization (for more information, refer to the "Resources" tab which has additional details to help guide you). Remember, obedience is better than sacrifice as stated in 1 Samuel 15:22
