What Must I Do To Be Saved?

This is the MOST important question for anyone to ask.

In order to be saved we must first realize our true state of sinfulness before The True and Living God and know that He ALONE can save us, cleanse us, and give us eternal life. Because of His love for us, He made a way through the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, for us to be saved, delivered, free, and spend eternity with Him. As stated in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have Everlasting Life.”

Sin separates us from God, and Jesus Christ is the ONLY remedy for sin. We cannot be good enough or do enough because we are all sinners as stated in Romans 3:23. JESUS is the ONLY true access to God. In John 14:6, Jesus told us..."I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”  There was no other way for God to erase the effect of sin except by the shedding of Christ's blood, which indicated that the penalty for sin had been paid. His perfect, sinless life was sacrificed for the lives of all who have sinned.

Salvation is a free gift from God, and to be saved a person must first believe in Christ as the only source of salvation, next repent to The Lord for living a life without Him and doing things contrary to Him. Then one must confess that Jesus is Lord, while acknowledging in his/her heart Christ has full rule over his/her life (Romans 10:9-10). In believing in Jesus and truly following and obeying Him, He gives us a new heart and mind, and we receive power from heaven through The Holy Spirit, to be equipped to live a life holy and acceptable in His sight. It’s a journey and process that starts with a TRUE decision of the heart. And we must be born again to see/enter The Kingdom of God, as stated in John 3:3.

We encourage you to fully accept Jesus Christ in your life as your personal Savior. And for those who fallen or turned away from Christ, please repent and turn back to Him today! It is not too late! We can tell you that giving our lives FULLY to Jesus Christ is the BEST decision we’ve ever made. John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…”

If you decide to make this decision today, here is a prayer to get you started…

Lord Jesus, I realize I am a sinner and I have lived only for myself. I have not lived according to Your Word. I understand my sin has separated me from You, and I want to be in right fellowship with You. I repent and ask you to forgive me for all the things I’ve done, said, and thought. I accept and know Jesus Christ died for me, was resurrected, and is alive today. I choose to completely follow You, and I open my heart and fully invite You into my life to become my Lord and my Savior. I give You control and ask You to rule and reign so Your perfect will can be accomplished in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer in all sincerity...CONGRATULATIONS!!! Heaven is rejoicing and so are we!!! Now there are a few things you need to do to follow up on your commitment…

- Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.

- Find a true Bible teaching church, and seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus.

- Be baptized. (Baptism is an outward symbol and confession of the inward reality of saving faith in Jesus Christ).

- Spend time with God each day through prayer and Bible reading. (**If you don’t have a Bible, let us know and we’ll send you one!)
